Ever since the completely surreal and unexplainable hunt for emo people began in Mexico I felt that what started as a funnyseries of jokes on how emos are pathetic, gay and absurd, became (and it is turning into) something which is no longer going to make anybody laugh. The strangest thing is that other groups of stupid idiots (equally absurd) are those who lead this imbecile war. Rockabillies, metal-heads, "rockers", goths, etc. All of them look ridiculous with their flashy, sweatshop-made clothes, all of them have a personality fresh out of a cereal box and all of them deserve ridicule, jeering and scorn. But none of them deserve to be hunted like animals, and much less to become the phármakon of Mexico, the poison that has to be removed in sacrifice for the evils of the world.
I am not emo; those who knows my appearance know that I couldn't be one, not even as a joke, given my indigenous features and stern face. But what gives: my support goes for emos everywhere in Mexico because they are the hunted, and although they indeed look very gay (see the images in this post) and indeed thay like very shitty music, the truth is that nobody should worry about going out dressed and made up as they fucking want.

Thank you so much for this entry!
I (almost) completely agree with you, especially the following part: "the truth is that nobody should worry about going out dressed and made up as they fucking want."
Unfortunately it will probably never be like that.
Oh, and I don't think emo music is shitty. I'm not emo myself, because in my country that term barely exists. So if you happen to like a certain band you're (for the most part) just a music fan. The way it should be. Well, more and more people are aware of the word "emo" here, but I bet that most of my friends don't know what it is. Yet. I don't look emo either by the way, I just like music that sometimes happens to be considered emo in the US.
So I guess my question is this: do people scorn emos because of the way they look or because other people can't accept the fact that not everybody like the same kind of music? Or is it because they hate that emos dress according to their music taste? I'm a bit confused here. I happen to hate jazz and country music, but you don't see me attacking people who enjoy those genres. I bet I'll be able to tell if a guy is a huge fan of Metallica, AC/DC and Guns N' Roses because of his clothes, but that's OK because it's hardcore or something like that? I just don't get that. So because emos cry, are emotional and weak it makes it all the more fun to kick them while they're already down? This is disturbing to me. I would never judge anybody, or think less of someone, just because they like a certain genre of music. You like what you like and that's it. I thought music was meant to bring people together.
Dennis, sadly the main thing is emos seem "homosexual" to Mexican macho-shitheads. They are beaten because of their "feminine weakness" which these brutes find offensive. It's a strange world, and it's becoming a very strange Mexico. Where are you from?
Sounds like those macho-shitheads has got some major insecurities going on themselves, or why else would this feminine weakness offend them to the point of wanting to physically harm emos?
I'm from Denmark by the way. I don't think people who dress or act feminine are harassed here as much as a lot of other places, but if you're openly gay I think you'll sadly still get some looks.
